Outcast has been recompiled from its source code and improved for optimal performance on modern computers. The key improvements with respect to the original version include: a multi-process pixel renderer for improved performance, bilinear filtering of software applied to polygonal meshes, a redesigned HUD to adapt to higher resolution resolutions, text resolution, updated launcher, native compatibility with Xbox gamepads, intuitive controller configuration, numerous error corrections, and improved general stability.
